Motivational music

For me music is often a big source of motivation. Most morning's I'll get dressed and ready for the day whilst listening to music. It wakes me up and it makes me feel good. And so I thought I'd let you know a few favourites that get me motivated, especially because we've reached week 8 of the semester at uni, and I know I definitely need the motivation to get me through the next couple of weeks.

We're gonna start with a group who are very, very important to my happiness, and they are Earth, Wind and Fire. They just make me wanna dance, and that is something everyone needs every once in a while. My favourites by them are:

September

Let's Groove

Boogie Wonderland

Now, I don't want this whole post to be me talking about all my favourite kind of lame stuff, but S Club 7 are important. I mean, everyone's heard Reach, and it makes you dance and I've found it very inspirational for a number of years. In fact, I remember being told we had to go to an assembly in year 13 so we were all really bummed out because they're boring, and then our form walked into the lower school hall and Reach was playing, and suddenly everything was five hundred times better and being there really wasn't so bad anymore. True story. So yeah, definitely try listening to:

Reach

Bring It All Back

And maybe even Never Had a Dream Come True (bit emotional though ygm)

All Time Low have some really great songs that make me feel motivated, but often in different ways. Like Guts makes me feel like I can do anything, and that I should do anything I want to. Something's Gotta Give makes me feel like if I try hard enough then surely, eventually, something good will finally happen. And there's something about Lullabies that makes motivates me too; I think it motivates me to be fine, and to just be okay with  being alone even if you miss someone. Maybe it motivates me to move on, and leave things behind, I don't know. Favourites include:

Guts

Something's Gotta Give

Lullabies

Weightless

For Baltimore

Of course, where would I be without The Script. Although a lot of their songs really tug on the heartstrings, there are a lot of motivational messages too. And it's not just the lyrics, the instrumentation and overall production of a lot of the songs really makes me feel things too; there are some that just have real drive and that's very important for me when it comes to motivation. Some of the best include:

It's Not Right For You

Superheroes

The Energy Never Dies

Fall For Anything

Hall of Fame

Millionaires

Taylor Swift motivates me to be less afraid of having feelings. And I know that sounds like a really odd thing, but I really don't like feelings or emotions, but I think she just reminds me that it's okay to feel, and that sort of motivates me to try and experience more in life, and to feel more feelings and be okay with it. She also motivates me to stand up for myself, and not let anyone try and tell me about myself when I'm the one who really knows best. In particular, I love:

Shake It Off (of course)

Style (the vs fashion show is the only version I can find of this on youtube)

Begin Again

Tied Together With a Smile

And some other songs by various artists are:

Beyonce - Run the World

SafetySuit - Never Stop

Little Mix - We Are Who We Are

Cimorelli - You're Worth It

MAGIC! - How Do You Want To Be Remembered

Pete Murray - Opportunity

Lawson - Make It Happen

McBusted - Air Guitar

Canary Swing - With The World On Your Shoulders

The Icarus Account - Proud

Good Charlotte - The Anthem and We Believe

Jessie J - Masterpiece

Kate Voegele - Lift Me Up

The Cab - Living Louder

Gavin DeGraw - I Don't Want To Be

Pixie Lott - We Just Go On

John Legend - This Time

What music do you listen to when you need some motivation?

Until next time.
