Song of the week #25
This week's song of the week is A Little Too Much by Shawn Mendes.
It's the loveliest song I have heard in a while. I've been listening to his album so much over the past two months, literally since it came out. And I just love his lyrics and melodies, and how they fit each other perfectly.
This song is pretty much a summary of my life. And I think the reason I love it so much is because I can relate to it on such a great scale. The lyrics are just me. The first time I listened to it I was completely blown away, because I didn't think a song could ever sum up how I felt about myself quite like this.
The opening lyrics, 'She would not show that she was afraid', are literally how I live my life. I don't like to show signs of weakness. I'm actually afraid of so many things, but I just hate to show it. 'Though everyone said that she was so strong, what they didn't know was that she could barely carry on. But she knew that she would be okay, so she didn't let it get in her way.' It's literally my life. I ignore my fears and my weaknesses and fake confidence every single day. And this song has kind of reminded me how difficult it is to do that. Living is a really hard thing to do. And yet, everyday, we all continue to do it.
If anything, this song has reminded me how brave a thing it is to live.
Don't forget that.
Until next time.
