Song of the week #28
I really love ABBA. And one of my favourites from them is Thank You for the Music. I guess because I am very thankful for music; 'thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing, thanks for all the joy they're bringing' pretty much sums it up. It's a very uplifting song, and it kind of reminds me to really appreciate the simpler things in life, like music, and such; the sort of things you might take for granted sometimes.
In general, ABBA are great when it comes to emotive music. Sometimes I'm sure people will think they sound a bit cheesy, but all in all, they're just very expressive songs, and I really like that. And I like that this song, as well as quite a few of their others, isn't about a relationship or such. I really like songs that aren't just about love; I think that's how you can test how good a songwriter is: if they're too dependent on the theme of love/relationships then are they versatile at all?
But yeah, I love ABBA, I love this song, I love music.
'Who can live without it?'
Until next time.
