Song of the week #59

Fifth Harmony's second album, 7/27, was released recently, and I have been listening to it constantly. I love pretty much every song, but I thought I'd tell you a bit about my favourite, which is called Scared of Happy.

The song is beautiful, with a relatable concept and a great beat. As much as the lyrics are kind of sad, the faster pace of the track adds a sense of overcoming, a sense that as much as things aren't great right now, it's only a matter of time.

Maybe it's not something we really think about, or would even think possible, but being scared of being happy is probably far more common than we'd expect. At the end of the day, it's a fear of having something wonderful and then losing it, and we all know that feeling. I love how they've written it into a song, because it's not a concept I can recall hearing in such a point blank way. And I like it.

What's your favourite song on 7/27?

Until next time.
