Reading Festival: Saturday
Well I've been MIA for a while.
Thought I'd come back with a post about my time at Reading Festival this weekend.
My friend, Ruth, and I went to Reading just for the Saturday - the thought of camping didn't really appeal to either of us. It was a really great day overall, we even managed to avoid the rain, with just a little spat here and there.
I got to see some of my favourite bands, which was wonderful. Blossoms, who I've been listening to non-stop recently, played a great set on the NME stage, with a load of songs from their album that was released a few weeks ago. There was a great atmosphere, and the tent was completely packed out for them.
We saw the end of Sunset Sons' set, and I've since been listening to them a lot. I love their sound and I think we'll be hearing a lot more of them these days.
Sigma had a really great set, as did Courteeners, who I had heard of but had never properly listened to, and I really enjoyed hearing them live.
I was surprised by how good Imagine Dragons were live as well. Their set was great, playing all the hits and really getting the crowd hyped and ready for the standout out of the day.
Red Hot Chili Peppers were amazing. Just as good, if not better live than on their albums. Dani California and Snow (Hey Oh) were my favourites. They put on a great show and I would definitely recommend seeing them whenever you can.
Overall we had a great day, listening to great music. I would be sure to go to Reading again, although I would still favour just doing a day than camping for the weekend.
Have you attended any festivals over the summer? Where did you go and who were your favourite bands to see?
Until next time.
